Place six pierogies in bottom of casserole dish. Spoon kielbasa and onions, with drippings, evenly over pierogies. Sprinkle half the cabbage over the meat and onion mixture. Sprinkle remaining cabbage evenly over second layer of pierogies.

  2. In large saute pan melt butter and cook onions until golden brown.
  3. Add cabbage and cook covered until cabbage wilts. Just a few minutes.
  4. Transfer onion and cabbage into 13"by 9 "roasting pan.
  5. Top with pierogi, salt and pepper.
  6. Slice kielbasa into large chunks and add.
  7. Cook, covered for half an hour.
  8. Place under broiler for 2 minutes to get a golden color on top.
